Top Unhealthy Habits APAC Consumers Aim to Kick in Next 12 Months: Unbalanced Diet, Lack of Exercise, and Insufficient Sleep – Findings from Herbalife Nutrition Survey

Herbalife Nutrition, a premier global nutrition company, is back for the third year running with its Virtual Run event in Asia Pacific. The event aims to inspire and motivate consumers in the region to build healthy active living habits, especially in light of the unhealthy lifestyle habits that many have developed during the pandemic. The findings from Herbalife Nutrition’s Asia Pacific Personal Habits Survey highlight the desire among consumers to kick these unhealthy habits, such as eating an unbalanced diet, not exercising regularly, and not getting adequate sleep.

The survey revealed that the most common negative impacts of these unhealthy habits include poorer stamina or fitness levels, excess weight gain, and a weaker immune system. Many consumers reported gaining excess weight, with reasons ranging from eating too much unhealthy food to binge-eating due to stress. However, Herbalife Nutrition believes that these habits can be changed with determination, motivation, and support from like-minded individuals.

To help consumers in Asia Pacific make positive lifestyle changes, Herbalife Nutrition is introducing region-wide initiatives focused on healthy nutrition and workout habits. One such initiative is the annual Virtual Run, which will take place in 13 markets across the region. This event aims to encourage people to get moving and adopt a healthy active lifestyle.

The Asia Pacific Personal Habits Survey, conducted in August 2022, polled 5,500 consumers aged 18 and above in various countries. The survey aimed to uncover changes in lifestyle behaviors since the start of the pandemic and identify unhealthy habits that consumers plan to kick in the next 12 months. The survey found that many consumers picked up unhealthy dietary/nutrition habits, exercised less, and experienced disrupted sleep patterns during the pandemic.

Looking ahead, eight out of ten consumers in Asia Pacific intend to make positive lifestyle changes in the next 12 months. These changes include being more consciously active, eating more nutritious foods, developing an exercise regime, starting a regular sleep schedule, finding ways to destress, and taking nutritional supplements. Additionally, respondents recognize the importance of support groups in building healthy habits, with many agreeing that a support group can help them tap into knowledge, work on shared goals, and stay accountable and motivated.

The Herbalife Nutrition Virtual Run 2022 is a key event in the company’s Get Moving with Good Nutrition campaign. This year’s Virtual Run will be more interactive with a new mobile app for seamless progress tracking. Participants from 13 markets will have the opportunity to contribute to raising funds for the Herbalife Nutrition Foundation, supporting the Casa Herbalife Nutrition program that provides good nutrition to needy children in the Asia Pacific.

In conclusion, Herbalife Nutrition’s Virtual Run is a great opportunity for consumers in Asia Pacific to kickstart their journey towards a healthier and more active lifestyle. By participating in this event and embracing positive lifestyle changes, individuals can work towards achieving their health and wellness goals with the support of a like-minded community.
